Barkermush
If you win Euro Cup does that not qaulify you for the Champions League if your in the Prem League. I thought Zenit went in the Champions League for winning the Euro cup? Anyway only wondered because Man City won the Euro Cup and they are still in the Euro cup the following season but they did not finish in a Champions League place in the Prem League. aiston
I believe that rule was changed after Liverpool won it and finished behind Everton... and Zenit won the russian prem i think which is why they were in CL.
craigy18181
yeah zenit qualified via winning their home league. It had nothing to do with winning the UEFA Cup.
Barkermush
Ah ok i was not sure. Man City finished 6th in the Prem. Here is how it looked at the end Every one from Liverpool to Newcastle got in the Euro Cup, Arsenal beat Blackburn in the Fa Cup Final On Penaltys but Blackburn did not get in the Euro Cup. Was it that if a team won the Fa Cup but had already got a champions league place the runner up would go into Euro Cup I.e When Man Utd beat Millwall in the Final Millwall got into Europe ebcause Man Utd was already in the champions league. Not sure if that as changed either , thanks
4457
English cup runners up no longer qualify for Europe. You cannot qualify for the CL by winning the UEFA Cup.
