help please

i put in my FM09 disk and nothing happens so i open up computer and click on the dvd rw drive and it says

insert a disk

please insert a disk into drive E.

it works on a laptop downstairs but not on my one - we both use vista but mine is a newer version

please help as my xbox broke on yesterday (christmas eve) and this is my only game that i recieved that wasnt an exbox 360 game

Does your machine have a DVD drive or a cd drive?

just a DVD RW drive

I have had the same problem mate.

I think the laser has gone on mine.

I would suggest trying some dvd to see if that works.

You can download the game in Steam without using the disc using the game code you have from your purchased game.

Download Steam from here - http://store.steampowered.com/about/

Install Steam on your computer

Once installed, open up Steam

Go to My Games

Go to Activate a product on Steam

Enter your Activation Code found on the back of the manual. (Use http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/ to see you got all the 0's and o's right)

Steam should now download your game.

If your machine can read other DVD's then im confused. If you activated via steam you "should" be able to download the game again from them onto your other PC?

if i have steam downstairs on one laptop but on the same internet connection - will i be able to install it on my laptop?
