Lukkas_Winchh
Okay.. we'll it's been just over a month of troubble free playtime since the debarcle that was the regsitration process.. however now.. whenever i go to start match (be it on a saved game or a new one) the game shuts itself down proclaiming an "XML Parsing error" if anyone has suffered with this and knows how to fix it, it would be most appreciated! also.. if SI would like to take note of its customers and not **** up next years FM with poor patches and riddiclious registary systems then that also would be most apprecaited. ..i feel sorry for the kid that gets FM09 for Christmas. ahmufcwafc
I can't play the game due to an XML parsing error If you have a shortcut on your desktop you can do the following: Right-click on the FM shortcut. Choose "Properties" from the pop-up menu. In the "Target" field, add the --reset_preferences command line option after "fm.exe", so it should look like this:"C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\fm.exe" --reset_preferences Press OK and then try to run the game as normal, using the shortcut. You'll want to remove the command after you run the game, as otherwise it will continue to reset your preferences every time you launch. If you don't have a shortcut you can make one and then perform the instructions on the shortcut you've made. If you purchased and installed the game through Steam you should be able to find the fm.exe in the following directory:C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Football Manager 2009/ If you purchased and installed the game from a boxed DVD copy you should be able to find the fm.exe in the following directory:C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/
Lukkas_Winchh
Thankyou very much for your very detailied instructions my irish amigo! - however where you refer to the "target field" all i have is.. "target type: football manager 2009" "target location: games" "target: football manager 2009" ----------------------------------------- "start in:" (this is empty, is this where i put the prompt?) "shortcut key: none" "run: normal window" "comment:" (again empty) "open file location" "change icon" "advanced" ...i hope that makes sense? sorry if this is a stupid question, unfortunatley i'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to PC games and SI have screwed people like yours truely well over with this latest instalment of the FM series. Giarc Ronyag
I'm still getting the odd xml error, player / fixture one, so i use the reset preferences thing, and the annoying thing about it is that i get that annoying tutorial menu every time i load the game as well as not having the load last saved game been available, i know they are minor things, but they are frustrating, is there a way round this?
