Cannot load game

We play a network game, my friend has sent me the save file, but on trying to load the save game i get the message "The database folder with which the game was created could not be found. The game is now running with the default database"

at this point FM closes down but is still running in processes.

I have Database that the game was origionally loaded from in "my documents, sigames, fm09, db" so that shouldn't be a problem.

This use to happen in FM08 but rather than close down it carried on loading the game.

I am using vista, and patch 9.2

Can anyone please help this is driving me mad.
