I've managed Denmark on FM08 for about a year through World Cup qualification. Was ranked around 25th for about the first 8 months (beating small countries and drawing with Germany). Then beat Germany 4-3 and expected to move up a few places but moved up a whopping 19 places to 6th in the world! Then last month I beat Moldova and Azerbaijan away from home 4-0 and 4-1. Yes they are rubbish teams but away from home these are very good results yet I moved back down 5 places to 11th in the rankings. Just seems a bit over the top. USA play most of their games against teams in the CONCACAF. And they are better than all of those with the possible exeption of Mexico. Therefore they'll win most of their games.
