4457
Tactics. Under the drop down menu which you use for team/player instructions... there's a tab for free kick takers, corner takers, etc.

el sid
And make sure he is first in every list so that he takes every one of the set pieces whenever he is playing :thup
Snoweel
BTW best is Veloso...in my opinion. Veloso is fashionable on these boards because he's a good player but also young and slightly obscure. There are 3 far better free-kick takers in the game who also happen to be far more accomplished in real life - van der Vaart, Ronaldinho and Riquelme. These 3 are absolute free-kick gods in Football Manager.

I wasnt going to name players but im playing as wolves, so i think your last 3 players maybe out of my reach, Veloso too i think although ive never tried! The player i have is Mascio, he has 19 attruibute for his free kick and set piece taking, only 17 in my game and signed for 60,000 quid i think! Les Girondins
Yup. I signed Ferrie Bodde from Swansea for 1.4million and he's been my club captain and freekick monster for six years at Leicester ..
Ryknow
Alex in my game is great at freekicks, Van Der Vaart played terrible with me. Assulin also produced some great curling freekicks even though his stats are low.
The Gaffovski
I haven't scored a single direct free-kick yet. My best taker is Van Persie (17). Free-kicks go woefully wide. Patched 9.2.0.

Cardiovascular
My GK is my best free-kick taker in the BSN, and he just scored a cracker.
phnompenhandy
can't find that mascio guy anywhere? He doesn't exist in real life - he was slipped in by a naughty researcher. He starts at a small Italian club called Cisco - 'Cisco Lazio' IIRC. You might not have him is your database is too small.

I heard about him from a previous thread and wondered what the fuss was about so loaded the league to get him. He has now played 10 games, 1 goal but i can see him getting better already. phnompenhandy
I don't have all players from Italy loaded, and have Serie A only - but he was in my database. I've got him in my reserves too, improving rapidly ...
Evilmaniacuk
I dont sign Italian players, too hard to keep happy in my opinion. Just my opinion but the last 4 months of any season Nasri is a free kick good, he went from 6 goals up untill January to 17 goals at the end of the season, 4 free kicks against Leeds made me weep with joy
Cadijk van Kaarhandel
Charlie Mulgrew is The Freekickmeister Train him up to "hit free-kicks with power" (he's already got PPM of Curls Ball) and he's unstoppable.
SCIAG
Michael Ballack in 07. Such an amazing player. If I ever needed a goal in the last minute, the highlights would pop up showing me that I had a free kick on the edge of the area. Bang, it's in the net. Nomis07
If I get a freekick right on the edge of the area it's usually a guaranteed goal. In 08 I had Vailatti taking my free kicks and he was immense. He scored a Beckham v Liverpool-esque one once, to the right of the box, but opting to bend it into the left side of the goal. pedro007
My freekick specialist is Hargreaves, he scored 20 league goals in about 30 appearances and I think nearly all of them were free kicks.
