Blue Nose Bear
Gamestation
Les Girondins
Sounds like Gamestation have sold you a returned copy .. Was it sealed? Good way to rip off the retailer: buy it, register it with Steam, return it for a refund and keep the registration. Bet they love DRM as much as we do. mike007lp
Can he use the deactivation method to reset it? http://deactivation.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/
Blue Nose Bear
It wasn't sealed no, and there is a mark where a sticker has been removed and a bit of a dent in the box...
4457
I suppose you should try the de-activation URL at the top of the forum.
Les Girondins
It wasn't sealed no, and there is a mark where a sticker has been removed and a bit of a dent in the box... As I suspected then. Return it and tell them to contact SEGA re: the DRM/steam situation. This is a bad thing btw, it means that retailers will either go out of business as digital distribution takes over or they'll stop accepting returns which will reduce consumer pressure to produce a quality product and support it. Blue Nose Bear
I suppose you should try the de-activation URL at the top of the forum. That says "Unable to lookup devices" what a load of crap, all this hassle with steam, why cant you just buy a game and bloody play it...
Les Girondins
That says "Unable to lookup devices" what a load of crap, all this hassle with steam, why cant you just buy a game and bloody play it... In your case, someone already has. The retailer has sold you a registered copy. That's like selling a car you don't own to some random punter. Your beef is with the retailer as they are a) ignorant of the DRM and b) accepting returns on this product without checking it is de-activated before refunding the cash. Someone from SEGA might help you out, but technically the person who has it registered owns it still and they shouldn't just go de-registering the product. Likely you'll get a new product key and Gamestation will get a letter from SEGA? Interesting to see how its resolved tbh. Because making you go back to the store is insane. Matt ex SEGA
You need to take it back to the retailer and ask for a brand new copy - if it wasn't sealed, they've sold you a return.
