Retirement Bug???

Playing as Wycombe Wanderers, back to back promotions following some awesome free signings.

Have been watching 3 players, who all got released from their respoective clubs:

A LeTallec

Bischoff

Van den Berg

The three of them are between 20 and 22 years old, and after a whole season of trying to sign them on frees, they all retired.

All three I have had in previous games, and are awesome.

Is this a bug or just something else???

9.1.0? Or patched?

Is that the second patch that was released or the first one

This happens often. I've seen great players (who would be superb for lower league sides or even mid-table teams) get released and retire at very early ages, as young as in their early 20s.

I've got the latest patch applied as well.

This issue has been in the game for several years now.

I can see it happening again,

Wellbeck and Delfouneso have been released.

Both would be great for me as i'm in the Championship now.

But still, no luck.

I feel they are also gonna retire.

This must be a bug

Was reported in 9.1.0 but are you on 9.2.0?

And now David Martin,

Ex Liverpool GK.

Wanted to join when he was at Liverpool - offered the contract when he was still there. Then he rejected the contract, and he is not interested in a move now.

Something is majorly wrong.

So new patch is out, will it effect my save game.

Like I said mate, it's been an issue that has been in the game for years. Let's hope it will be fixed in the future. The new patch is save-game compatible so you can continue playing your current game after applying it.

Its just annoying, quality players out there, available on frees and they are destined for retirement.

Im hoping that the patch will allow me to sign them, however i do accept that that is probably unlikely.

In my game, yes. I've had 2 players retire as free agents at the age of 23 and 26, respectively. Can upload a picture if requested.

yeh, this is annoying. Its a bug where the players believe they are too good to play in lower leagues as they were at premiership clubs

Just an update,

All three, Wellbeck, Delfouneso and Martin were giving the same response,

"not interested in a move ..........."

Have just uploaded update 9.2.0,

and now Martin and Delfouneso have accepted contracts and "I am not able to meet Wellbecks demand".

So all is good, annoying thing is I have missed out on Le Tallec and Bischoff. Le Tallec more so.

Just need a decent LB amd MC playmaker (3 mill to spend)

I don't think this is a bug, i've always seen this in every CM/FM and i do thinnk this is normal. Why? because if there isn't any team interested in hire them they retire...seems normal to me.

Well, I couldnt get Delfouneso and MArtin to sign before the patch.

Now updated, they have.

So bug or not, 9.2.0 fixed it for me.

9.2.0 solved a lot of things but screwed others...and thats a shame...
