9.1.0 Tactics on 9.2.0 Patch!!

how do your tactics work with the new patch?

I am very excited about the changes that the new patch, but nervous it s gonna take me 2 weeks to come out with new tactics.

Mine have improved greatly, I'm scoring a lot more.

From the games I've played so far, mine aren't bringing me success anymore. Maybe it's just a coincidence or bad luck, but I'm tweaking my formation and tactics.

I didn t install yet. I am 10 games away from the title, with a squad that got 14 new players, and sold 24. If i win the title it ll be a Chrystmas miracle.

Mine seem to be about the same,I have only played 2 friendly games and 2 games in the premiership,I also got promoted so could be a bit mis-leading but all in all I dont see me rushing to the slider's just yet.

That might be good. On 9.1.0 i get like 6 CCC every match and barely score 2 or 3.

That sounds about right! How many do you actually expect to score?? It's not like a CCC should be anywhere near a guaranteed goal.

So that's 38 goals scored and 0 conceeded in 5 games. We were playing poor teams but i've never seen that before.

The cpu is scoring a lot more from CCC, not to count the situations when it is not a CCC. So aside from the CCC, i had other chances that were not converted into goals.

Of course, didn t have top quality players, but still....., missing wat to much.

Haven't tried my old ones yet as I hated them. Could only play 4-4-2 with an AML and AMR instead of MR and ML successfully. Now a flat 4-4-2 is working well

Chelsea aren't that great in 2024 so hopefully it won't be too tough

My point was mainly though that my strikers were taking chances that last year in very similar games they wouldn't have.

Won all 3 games I have played (away to Bolton, home to Liverpool and Locomotive Moscow), not noticed anything to be worried about. Plus strikers seem to be getting better ratings which can't be a bad thing

Geting mixed feedback, still nervous but i ll go for it.

You can save it as a different savegame. On one game you keep the prepatch tactic and on the other you open up for tweaking and other stuff.

Doesn't hurt. Then you will know what works best for you.

Much worse. Before the patch we were playing silky football, now passes are going flying all over the place, players stand around watching the ball like they're doped up, reaction times seem really slow - sometimes the ball has rolled 4 feet past a player before he even seems to notice the ball is there.

Massive massive downturn in performance. I'd go back if I could.

OMG, my team have turned into a bunch of sunday leaguers overnight. The ball just runs past them and they stand there and look at it like they don't even know what it is.

My keeper seems rooted to the spot most of the time.

My tactics are working well. I'd stopped playing in recent days because it was frustrating knowing that I'd got a good tactical setup but the bug regarding the artificially poor performances of strikers was holding me back. With that sorted I'm enjoying the game.

Not installed the new patch yet. I've just finished 1st season, so if it does affect tactics I'll just put it down to second season syndrome anyway.

Just had a typical example there. Micah Richards and Vincent Kompany standing more or less on the penalty spot about 5ft apart. Ball runs loose, hits Richards and the ball lands in between the two of them. So they stand there and watch it while Tuncay runs all the way in from *outside* the penalty area, right between them and thumps it into the net. I know sometimes defenders can be indecisive when the ball lands between them, but this took several seconds and neither of them looked as if they even knew the ball was there.

Just started new game with liverpool and in my first competitive game against artmedia (sp?) in champs league 3rd qualifying round at home won 9-0 lol and 4-0 away with my reserve team playing second leg much more goals now

I'm winning and I'm making on average 7 CCC a game but after 8 games I'm yet have scored a single one of my CCC I only ever score long range.

Playing LLM and played half a season so far. Lotes of 3-2, 5-4 etc and quite a few 1-0 with the winners having bugger all shots but winning. Dunno if its improved or not or my tactics aren't up to scratch.

Started well with 5 match unbeaten run couple of draws, but turned to poop.

Downloading now and this is what I am most interested in:

- Improved default cross destination slightly

- Increased first time passes, shots when player ability and situation allows

- Toned down instances of 3/4/5 players converging on ball player at once

- Made non defensive players close down play a little more effectively

- Obvious through balls less likely to be ignored

- Made players try to shoot slightly later when clean through if possible

- Reduced number of ariel challenges logged for players who arent close enough to the ball

Was worried I had to change them because in my very first match with 9.2.0 my team played pretty bad.

I'm about 16 games off the end of the season so I'm planning not to activate Steam until then.

I play low closing down and defend deep most of the time and find it helps. I also use no OI's as I find they just destroy your formation ..

Also my support and defence players are largely man/tight marking.

Defending deep didn't work for me.. OIs are a lottery but I feel tight marking on the wingers is useful.

Might try a different formation with my newly promoted Ipswich side.. maybe I go for 3 DCs.. Some of the young talents I've brought in might be ready for the prem.

I am just about to begin my second season managing Redditch in the BSN , my tactics in the first season were good as I finished 11th . But even if my tactics dont work as well for the 2nd season (?after installing updated patch) I dont mind because it is one of the challenges of being a football manager , as the opposition will know what your style of football is , therefore will try and counteract it.
