Registering new players signed in January??

I've recently signed two players in the January transfer window but they are classed as "ineligible". On the squad screen and at the bottom, it states that I currently have 24 registered players and squad numbers given...yet there is no "change" option for the new players, like there is in the summer.

I'm on the eve of the deadline and these two are important to my squad, hence why I bought them. How do I register them?

I sincerely hope that this isn't some bug and that I need some update to fix it. I sincerely hope that isn't the case and I'm just being stupid and blind.

If you save your game and then go on holiday past the date what happens?

Id name your save something different just in case it doesnt work though?

It worked for me with 9.1 for a CL registration bug in the January window so it was worth a shot!
