Sound Error After Installing New Patch

I downloaded the patch (through Steam), loaded up game and continued my save, no problems at all. But when i play a match i get an error pop up at every highlight which stops the game until i click ok, then two seconds later it pops up again and so on until the highlight has finished, it basically seems like i have no sounds? Only way i can play the game now is in commentary mode, which is pretty ****.

This is strange, do you still get a popup when setting preferences to having no sound?

To do this:

Go into preferences, Select "Display and Sound" and then untick "Play Sounds"

The settings were already on no sound as that's how i usually play. Have also tried with them on smart and all, pretty much all ways i can. Just waiting for a match to finish and i'll try restarting the game and see if that works

Are you using the orginial sounds that came with the game or did you try to install different sounds?

I had different sounds in the my documents folder, but deleted them a little while ago as thought they might be the problem, but its still the same.

Infact, i loaded up Steam and again and it started to update the game, again for some reason, now i cant even load it

So any help with that would also be gladly appreciated.

Right, back again, i went to the FM properties in Steam and i ran the 'verify integrity of cache' and 'defragment cache files' and all seems to be working now

I have had a problem with my sound as well - not as above but on two occassions now, my sound has stopped working. I go to the preferences and sound and it seems to have 'unticked' itself - very weird. When I tick it, it then works fine. This has happened twice now and I have been playing the game for two days (real time not game time).

I am using the sounds that came with the game.
