Do the pitch condition and the weather actually affect the match engine?

In the freezing blowing gales of lower leagueness that I'm in I've never seen the ball stick in a puddle or a long hoofing ball get moved by the breeze.

It's true I don't really tend to adjust for the weather anymore, maybe it would explain some unexpected results.

It definitely used to in FM05. I certainly notice it less now if at all...

I bet it adds like 0.01% to some equation somewhere

I don't adjust for weather anymore either, mostly because it seems like it rains every match.

Drizzle to downpour, it seems like there's never a clear day.....

In another post somewhere, Miles himself said that it does bear an effect, but its not a visual effect!

Weather is hopeless in FM. The whole of Scotland gets one type of weather yet I'd say the country has 3 or 4 distinct types of weather. Weather in Greenock for example is very different to Methil.

it does effect big time i use a short passing game and quick tempo and if the [itch is muddy or waterlogged what my passing ratio go down by at least 15 per cent

Don't know about wind as I don't play long ball, but the pitch being muddy or soaking wet definitely makes through balls easier.

Altho' they haven't coded the 3D to include visible rain, the weather does and always has had a big effect. Hit a long ball out to the wings on a dry day and it'll go in to touch; on muddy pitch it'll hold up. Trying your luck with long shots in windy or rainy conditions can be fruitful. Players get far more tired on a heavy pitch.

I play short passing in dry windy conditions, and direct in heavy rain.
