turn it upto 11 Posted June 6, 2008 Share Posted June 6, 2008 why is there a penalty taking attribute, surely the penalty taking ability is a sum of all those attributes. say someone had really low numbers in all of those but had say 18 penalty taking , what exactly is he good at, if he cant kick, keep his cool, concentrate or make a decision Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

So tendency to surround the ref isn't required for pens? Ahhhh that's where I've went wrong. Off topic but at work I got told to take my desktop of that wonderful penalty miss down the other day, possibly because it was on a massive projector, who knows? For example someone with composure, etc. can score a penalty easily by just shooting it low in the corner. While someone with high penalty taking will try to get it in the top corner. I mean it could well be calculated from 4-5 others and maybe a "good penalty taker" PPM. And at the moment the system seems to be a little flawed: I usually can't get a good penalty taker at low levels (right now my best has 8 in the Swedish second tier), which is not even close to reality. I go regularly to see Hungarian 6th tier matches (which is really, really low) and yet the team I support has a penalty kick specialist who rarely misses.
