StevenMcD
I've been playing the FM series for the last 3 years now, and eachtime a new FM comes out I need to start all over again as a unknown. Would it not be possible to import your manager stats from one game to another?
CaptainPlanet
It's not currently possible, but has been suggested in the wishlist thread several times.
Monty_9
would be a lovely little feature...as in your reputation and maybe even relationships with other managers...might not be possible but would be good
Hershie
Surely it wouldn't work? You could have a 40 year career on FM one year, and then all this experience would be carried forward to the next FM, only to start 1 year later than the last game? mike007lp
I don't really see what good it would do since you basically start a new game 1 season later every time and it would probably be too hard for the game to change according to your process on a previous game (like switching relegated teams, fired coaches, transferred players,...) Monty_9
thats why i said if its possible....would be complicated but believe a worthwhile amount of people would want it
estoo
Is a 40 year career even possibel? I'm sure I read somewhere that the game ends after 30 seasons, though I'd be delighted if this was wrong. Most I've managed in years gone by is about 20 seasons. 4457
The only practical end to a game is when the save file gets too big.
CrashOverride
Or you get that old that you die!! Ive seen a thread somewhere with an 87 year old manager (I think!) Im not sure how practical this would be, IE if you import a 65 year old manager you may not be able to play for long!!
4457
You can't actually die in game.
elgreenio
i'd say this was something on the wishlist that will stay on the wishlist
dave byrd
You can have your hall of fame data from a previous game in a new version. Simply copy the 'hall of fame.dat' file in the sports ineractive folder in shared documents folder from the old game into the folder in there for the new game. Jimbokav1971
I wouldn't like this feature and wouldn't use it.
estoo
Lol, they could implement manager illness... ...has to take off 6 months to recuperate from triple bypass and hip replacement. Or ..Due to the onset of dementia all of your scouting knowledge has been forgotten. No? Aw well.

Or ..Due to the onset of dementia all of your scouting knowledge has been forgotten. No? Aw well. "Contract negotiations have broken down due to you getting sidetracked and talking about the war" "Your assistant believes that the lack of effectiveness in your half-time team talk may be due to your falling asleep mid-sentence" "Your assistant has noted that due to the overwhelming smell of urine on the coach, some players are now choosing to drive themselves to matches"
jozza800
Maybe not to use the manager and his stats in a new save, but it would be good to be able to keep a record of all your achievements on one game. So if you use the same name but in say three or four saves, each save is different but if you say use the same name each time you can keep an overall record of that name.
