Dave Knott
My team was runners-up in the League Cup Final. The winners by virtue of winning the Premiership went into the Champions League. I expected to go into the UEFA Cup (or whatever it's called these days) but I did not. Anyone tell me: Should I have expected to play in Europe? 4457
No. League Cup runners up have never qualified for Europe, only FA Cup runners up. I think even that's changed now.
jod123
As 4457, League Cup runners up never qualified for Europe. If the winners already had qualified through the league then an extra place would go to the league.
