I did have Mathys Charbonnel at 18 who was pretty much on par with Andrew except had better mental stats, theres a post in the stoke city team guide thread if you're that interested in digging it up lol (I'm too lazy to go fetch it myself)

I don't do well as a keeper I'm afraid.

Looks a bit like you from what i remember lol, just no afro, or skin that dark - ok nothing like you lol. Did you get on this years fm? Always keep an eye out for you and Pete on FM lol.

Nope didn't buy it. I'm still playing FM07.

To be fair, you can hardly judge based on attributes alone (although most of the time it's a good indicator). I remember one of my regens in FM05 was consistently good over many, many seasons. Well, not 'my' regen per se, but I snapped him up early enough. Will try to find a screenshot I've saved around here...

I don't know how to do screen shots like that, but I got my hands on the best regen I'd ever seen....English too. Then I seen a Spanish clubs had bought a Argie regen....this guy was amazing...he had high stats in almost every area...17yrs old and my scout Bettega came back telling me he was already 4stars and was a good premiership player already. Can't wait till the end of the season...

i'm going to sign him or speand my budget trying.

Here... FM2005. Mostly a holiday game. I edited the picture (black arrows indicate I was manager at the same time he was at the club). Has nearly 24 years in the record (he's 39 when this image was taken, in what would turn out to be his last season playing - later went on to become a successful manager):

Everyone needs to realize that "right only" or "left only" preferred foot are not as good as their attributes indicate. You have to take into consideration that they can only use one foot and that significantly reduces their effectiveness in the match engine.

Perhaps, but the thread title is "probably the best regen ever" - not "probably the best 17 year old regen ever"

But by the age of 22 he could easily be as good as the other players posted in this thread, and I bet that his average performances will be somewhere near the 7.5 region.

Lol, for some reason you always come through as a good regen on my games. Some of the others are very hit and miss or in the case of Peter Vernon always in the lower leagues with terrible stats lol.

Old ones from Football Manager 2008:

Claudio Toscano - "The Gentle Giant"

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/3293/claudiotoscanoprofiless1.jpg

His marking, tackling and heading are actually 1 point higher - he's just been through a serious injury.

Fernando Palha - "Fun from distance"

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/9020/fernandopalhaprofilein9.jpg

Also has PPMs "Shoots from distance", "Shoots with power", "Curls shots" and "Tries first-time shots". Took a while to get all of those PPMs in, but as a result, he's just hilarious to watch.

Stuart Fox - "Perfect targetman"

http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/3613/stuartfoxprofiletm3.jpg

Jussi Laine - "Cristiano Ronaldo with crossing"

http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/9006/jussilaineprofilexc8.jpg

Hm...

Alan Jameson - "Perfect winger"

http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/2738/alanjamesonprofilemq9.jpg

Oh my.

Alan Collins - "Almost-perfect winger"

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/2982/alancollinsprofileds0.jpg

Not quite as good, but I got him for free. Uncapped until now (!).

Hélder Estrela - "Perfect defensive midfielder"

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8677/hlderestrelaprofiledf5.jpg

Is it any surprise I want to combine both this guy and Fernando Palha (see above)?

Benoît Moreau - "Perfect holding midfielder"

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/3360/benotmoreauprofileun0.jpg

Unlike the other two, Moreau has no real wide impact, but holds the midfield ridiculously well.

Erwan Marveaux - "The right-back everyone failed to miss"

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/1236/erwanmarveauxprofileyq1.jpg

Incredible.

Bunta Kumatani - "Defensive powerhouse"

http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/1334/buntakumataniprofileot5.jpg

Wow.

Marco Antonio Calustro - "Beckham"

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/5633/marcoantoniocalustroprogf2.jpg

Beckham at his peak.

Luiz Roberto Ribero Santos - "Future Roberto Carlos"

http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/5099/luizrobertoribeirosantowt8.jpg

They complained when I gave him his Brazil debut - and he's going to be amazing in the future.
