Useless team talks

What do you think are the most useless teamtalks??

I think "Encourage" when you're 1-nil up away from home is the most useless teamtalk ever conceived. Every time I end up losing the game 3 or 4-1. Stupid really.

I always use encourage when I'm 1-0 up.

I also use for the fans quite a lot. When 2-0 up, all of them are useless except for saying nothing.

I was gonna say that, it at least worked occasionally in derbies etc. in past FMs, but it doesn't seem to ever do anything on 09.

For the fans is without a doubt the most useless, as is the why can't play this way every week. Last 3 times I've used it I've had transfer requests. Encourage is quite a useless one, don't get complacent is far better. Wishing the team luck never seems to bode well either.

well i have had some good results with do it for the fans. if i use it in the first half of a big game nothing. but if i use it at half time it seems to have some effect.

"Despite the win your performance was awful" Does nothing but wind up the players however true it is. I've had success using all of the options except this one.

I take a hard line with my boys and its either disappointing or don't let your performance drop. WIsh them luck sounds like I don't think they have a cat in Hell's chance of winning.

i always wish them luck pre match. At half time losing/draw i you can win this, when winning at HT i say pleased. post match if won say well done if defeated i say disappointed. Rocket science eh

If away from home against a team above or near me in the table, or in europe away from home, we can win this. If away and against much lower team, or at home against domestic teams, for the fans.

For the fans seems to be effective against rivals or in big games. If you overuse it then it probably is pretty useless.

2-0 up at the half is really the worst situation to be in. All the team talks are variations of "pleased" which will cause your players to slack off and start playing like **** in the second half, and you'll be lucky to win the match.

I always try to "encourage" whenever possible and save the "pleased" for after the game (if we win). If we lose, I'm "disappointed" or even "angry" (if they really played awful), unless it's a game we really had no chance to win (then I "sympathise").

If I'm two up at half time, i often just say nothing and will just say "I have faith" to those on 7.5-8.4 and pleased to those on 8.5 or more. It usually seems to work.

Same here - it's a handy half-time talk for me, when drawing, regardless of opponent.

For big games I always tell the players to go out and enjoy the game, seems to work wonders for me.
