elgreenio
i usually look out for : tactical knowledge, motivation, determination, as well as JA and JP, just incase i go on holiday and need him to take the reigns for a game or two

backpackant
Tactical knowledge and motivating are more important in FM09 than in other releases - if you use him of course. His hints and tips during games work for me more often than not, and if I want to flick through the team talk his motivating comes in handy. I think SI should add a "press handling" stat too, hidden or otherwise. Unless that comes under something else already. Judging ability is more important than judging potential IMO - I ensure my (unofficial) head youth coach is 17-20 in that department.
AlEd
I NORMALLY GO FOR SOMEONE WITH ALL the above but high attributes for PA AND JA because i normally ask my ass man's opinion on a plyer before i sign them if im not too sure bout them myself.
