Shortlisting Players

When I shortlist a player indefinatly, that should mean untill i say otherwise right? so why do they keep getting removed at my instruction when I haven't said otherwise....

I think they get removed after about a year. I don't realy see the problem as you would have signed them by then if you wanted them. Plus it only takes a few seconds to add back onto your shortlist

And if i want to track players to see how they develop... I have to constantly re add them, if it says indefinatly, make it that.

Are you 100% sure you actually shortlisted them? Or did you just ask for a scout report on them - cos if it's asking for the report, then that puts them on your shortlist for a year, not indefinitely.

I don't get why they put in an indefinate option, when its not indefinate....

haha, yes, this bothers me too. there's always that 1 day each year or so when i have 70 new messages in my inbox telling me so and so has been taken off my shortlist.

if its just for a year, then why have the year option as well?

If you want a scout report from someone but they aren't on your shortlist, they get automatically put on for a year. To put them on indefinitely, add them to the shortlist.

To view how long someone has left on your shortlist, and re-add them if you wish, go to your shortlist and click the top of the 'Days' column.

Ozzy mate, your missing the point, the point is when we add somebody indefinatly, it should be that...

Not 1 year, if we wanted someone on the shortlist for 1 year, then we would select 1 year.

For example, maybe i want to track a 15 year old, see how he develops over a few years from a country which won't let you sign him due to his countrys age restriction on signings or work permit issues then I don't want to have to keep clicking add indefinatly.

Well for me it adds indefinitely in FM 07.

Nope. The only time I've ever got a message of someone being removed form my shortlist or someone just being removed is when they retire or when they were only added for up to a year.

I wish there was an automatic 'rescout' option.

I keep a short (long) list of up to 500 players (so i can make sure if they come up for transfer or their contract runs out - i know!)

I get 100+ messages 5 times a year (or more often 400+ messages in the off season) - what I really want is for the scouts to 'reassess' them now they are a year older, not take them off the list!

Yeah a rescout option would be nice, see what coaches think further down the line
