dufcterror
In my game I'm currently manager of Man Utd and Argentina (it allowed me to sign Messi). Now when I play friendlies I call up Diego Bounnetta (or however you spell it again, not on FM to check) who is at Arsenal and they always withdraw him! What I would like is the opportunity to enforce the FIFA law which stops him getting played in the next game, or even the ability to tell him he won't play in the future if he continually drops out when he is fit. Sorry, but it's now doing my head in!
dufcterror
Maybe it's just me then...
Guest mikeytwigge
you are allowed to withdraw for fruendlies though arn't you. Though the law was only for competitive matches
dufcterror
I'm not convinced withdrawing fully fit players every friendly happens much in real life though?
Harryseaess
On one of my FM08 saves I was manager of Nigeria and Obafemi Martins pulled out when he was fit and I was able to comment and say 'he will never play for Nigeria under me again' . dufcterror
Yeah i remember that from previous ones. There needs to be many improvements on the international side. Another is convincing players not to change allegiances to another country
santy001
Or in some cases, to change their allegiances lol.

Giarc Ronyag
Or in some cases, to change their allegiances lol. Haha, totally agree with that, like giggs, bale, ramsey, schmeichel etc, could of played for england!
dufcterror
Well... technically Giggs couldn't have played for England, his whole family is Welsh. That's a myth based on the fact he played for England schoolboys, doesn't mean he was English, he just schooled there
BamaToon
I thought Giggs' father was English, and thus he was eligible to play for England?
Giarc Ronyag
Giggs played for england u21's
ATW
Home Nations Youth Football is governed by different laws than Full International anyway. That is all I am saying on the matter
Ozzy38
The amount of inaccurate posts about Giggs stated as fact here makes me feel grumpy like an Avram.
BamaToon
Well I'll blame mine on being an ignorant Yank with little knowledge of the beautiful game.
Giarc Ronyag
He represented England at Schoolboy level (as Ryan Wilson) playing at Wembley Stadium against Germany in 1989. Ryan changed his surname at the age of 16, two years after his parents' separation, so "the world would know he was his mother's son."[4] Lawrie McMenemy, then-coach of the England Under-21 team, checked to see whether Giggs was eligible to play for England. However, he was rebuffed after finding that Giggs had no English grandparents, and was only available to play for Wales and Sierra Leone, the home of his paternal grandfather. oh well, still, same scenario different player then... lawsie
Well just thinking about this but... is there no manager interaction or player interaction you can do following a withdrawl like that? Maybe there is i dunno.
dufcterror
So I was right... cheers for the confirmation on the urban myth surrounding Ryan Giggs
