Because you still have a valid number of available player to form a team from there.

Why would you expect to skip a game just because your first choice team is unavailable?

I suspect in real life a team had 7 players unavailable (non of the injured) the date of the game would be changed.

Why the hell are you playing on an International Weekend! In fact change that, just seen the date, why is there players on International Duty on a Non-International date

I don't think jackman is right. So long as a club can field a full starting 11, they can play. They can request date changes, but only under exceptional circumstances. Remember Spurs food poisoning a few years back? they had 10 first team players out, and still had to play.

Injury is different from International Duty. Especially the home nation international. Which shouldn't happen anyway since it has been over 48 hours since the last International date

what competition was it in? :confused: because when english internationals are out the premier league usually doesn't run.

That's the problem. Going by the date at the bottom of the screeshot, which still states 2008, the internationals were the previous Wednesday and the Saturday before.

IRL if a club has more than 5 players away on International Duty their game can be called off, the rules in place mainly for championship clubs now as Premier league games are structured around International windows.

The club can still opt to play the fixture tho if they feel the opposition is affected too, or the players are not first teamers

FM has always suffered with this, I remember on 07 the league cup semis were always played around an international week and It was sometimes impossible to play without sticking 4-5 u18 squad players in

Games can be postponed with fewer than 5 players on INT duty. Leicester City have postponed 2 games with 3 players away.

If many players are away on international duty the game can be postponed yes, but if its injuries then no chance.

Is it possible to suggest a game be postponed in game?

I know that in older versions it was possible to approach the FA, but I haven't seen anything in 09.

I have this problem every 2 years, as I am playing with Wellingto Pheonix. New Zealand take up to 10 of my 23 man squad for the Oceania Nations cup, they usually miss about 3 games. It cripples me.

Iv had the same problem with my celtic team , i had to play a scottish cup replay against falkirk and i had 15 unavailable players so i had to play with my reserves basically , luckily i won 1-0

Had the same issue as Villa in 2010. Lost 9 first team players and ended up playing kids. The only good thig was i was playing liverpool at home who had basically lost ALL their players and i won 3-1!!! Brilliant!

On football manager 2008 I had to play the European Super cup with five 33+ year olds running out their contracts that hadn't played for me in years, three 16 year olds, three 17 year olds that were reserve U18 players, more out of contract failed youth players and Anton Sosnin.

As the players were away on international duty, I'm almost sure there should have been no Premier League fixtures on that day. The only exceptions would be for the Olympics or the African Cup of Nations.

Is it an U21 international competition?

Yeah, but would they go for Ledley King? Isn't he about 28? I thought they usually go for players of about 22 or 23 who played at U21 level but never pushed on to the full team.
