What does "moves into channels" mean?

Recommended Posts

channels are the natural gaps left between defenders, aren't they?

Moving into channels means that rather than running past the centerback, the player will run between the centerback and leftback for instance. This way neither knows who should pick him up.

A strong striker's probably better off not having this PPM though, as you don't mind him steamrolling through the defender.
