Do players get repeat injuries in FM09?

Recommended Posts

I am managing AC Milan in the 1st season and on 10/09/08, Pirlo got injured in a match and was out for 4 months with a torn calf muscle, he recovered and in his second game back (25/01/09) he gets injured and he has a torn calf muscle again and this time is out for 5 months.

I ask you, have SI added repeat injuries in FM that players don't fully recover from and therefore may hit them again later in their career (e.g. Owen Hargreaves with his knee injury)? If so this does add a sense of realism to the game but I am not happy that it has happened to me...

Or is it simply just coincedence?

Thanks .

Maybe you shouldn't rush him back, if you didn't rush him back it may be coincidence.

By rush him back I mean play him just after he started training.

I didn't play him until he had returned to full training i.e. i didn't play him when the 'inj' was in yellow.

When he returns, try giving him a little break after he returns from training or let him have some time in the reserves, if the two injuries are the same then there is a problem with him being to quick to get into the action.

I think the more a player gets an injury the bigger chance there is he'll get it again in his career. The amount of times quick players (such as Bellamy and Owen) have had hamstring injuries, come back, played a bit and been fine - and then BAM, it just goes again. You do have to be wary with certain injuries for certain players.

Thanks for the advice mate.

And yeh, I see what you mean there. I just thought it was a bit weird that after two games he got exactly the same injury again.

Established: players do get repeat injuries in FM09.

Question: does sending a player to a Specialist (instead of leaving him to the care of my physio) reduce the chance of him repeating the injury?

That was pretty much the case in FM'05, but that's no longer mentioned anywhere in the physio report or dialogs any longer.

Question #2: can we get physio reports that might detect repeat-injury chances?

Question #3: can our Scouts detect repeat-injury chances, and report it to us before we sign the player?
