SWaRFeGa
It wasn't a PC game.

Willet
Has it never been available for PC? I seem to remember games like Premier Manager which were originally brought out for the Amiga were also brought out for the PC
backpackant
Oldest one I saw was Champ Man 2, at a friend's house. It was too old to work on my PC, though. I think it was DOS-based.
SWaRFeGa
Original CM (Championship Manager) was only available on Amiga, etc at the time. Championship Manager '93 was the first, I believe, to hit the PC.

KK2003
Incidently, typing 'Championship Manager 1' into Google will bring up links to download it. The one I clicked onto then said the game was now abandonware (whatever that means, I'm guessing similar to freeware?). I would link to it on here for you, but if it's not freeware I don't really fancy a ban for piracy.
sjm
Try dosbox to get those old classics working... was playing Colonization, Master of Magic and other classics without problems on it. http://www.dosbox.com/

MuppetMaestro
Yes SI gave it away as a part of their FM Magazine and is definitely available on the PC. Not sure where you would get it from. Not sure you would be able to get a 2007/08 Season update for it either! (and I wonder whether it needed patching?)
muncherdave
the best site for abandonware is most definitely http://www.abandonia.com/ no need to sign up, no having to click ads to be able to download and just plain no hassle downloading to your hearts content. i registered on there out of respect as every other site always has a catch to download, which you don't usually find out till after you sign up either. and the original championship manager is there
nick...
you used to be able to download it off sigames.com but it's not there any more.

Surely, given that SI were giving it away, it would be legit to download it off some site for free. It would be nice if an SI person could give official permission and provide a link. skintsaint
One thing I hated in the original CM. In Europe the no 9 would always score loads, even if it was from a poorer European team. Bug? Tactics?

Willet
On the original CM game I hated it because you never could buy foreign players you used to bid for them and have your offer accepted but you could never get a work permit.

SI dont like you talking about abandonware or linking to their sites even though i do believe it is legal. which i suppose is fair enough but if your no longer supporting the game then i dont see the problem
