Unexplained lack of form

won the double in my first season at united, but now im im 8th place struggling to score a single goal a game no tactic changes, unhappy players or anything, they all appear motivated but just cant win and are playing s**t

In the second season it seems that other teams realise the weaknesses in your tactics and exploit them.

It's commonly known as "second season syndrome", think Wigan/Ipswich/Reading, your tactics and your team must constantly evolve in order to counteract teams who have worked out how to play against you.

I've noticed morale plays a huge part, if all players are on superb then you can pull off great result after great result. I played arsenal and liverpool with great morale and absolutely battered them and was unlucky to come away with draws so the team morale dropped to very good/good so then I play really weak teams and they were all over us and my players didn't play as well.

One thing I can suggest is to arrange a game with your u18's - I occassionally do this during international breaks (usually brings in some revenue too - albeit and insignificant amount for a side like man utd lol) should help your players get back on form by playing a weaker team and saves messing about with reserve games etc for the same effect.

signing too many players as well puts you on a downward spiral untill they gel, no matter how good they are.

Basically, you were the best team in two competitions last season, now the other teams play tighter and try a different approach now you're amazing.
