FM starts and seems to work. but the startup screen takes ages now, a new "loading"-screen appears, and while this, little snitch reports to me that FM is trying to connect to a server via port 4077. what's this? nothing i've asked for. can someone please explain what this connection is for? thanks. blindmull Posted November 20, 2008 Author Share Posted November 20, 2008 pushing up. no other paranoids out there? found out, the server FM tries to connect seems to be a company for in-game advertising. why does this happen now after the patch? is this what has been worked on (instead improving 3D)? why does FM try to connect to the internet without me asking to do so? the manual doesn't state in-game advertising either... Not sure why it is connecting *after* the patch and not before. The in-game advertising on the sides of the pitch don't bother me too much, although it is a bit annoying when you click on them accidentally...
