yeah, like iamweesel said, its slow because of your pc(and who knows, maybe because you have a moderate pc and putted into a save too many leagues;) )

my machine was top of the line 3yrs ago, and it runs xp still.. i shut down a couple of applications and FM09 runs fine on mine, and the 3d match engine runs nicely as well.

I think when choosing database, you have to choose small... If you do large it seroiusly slows the game down heaps...

I run large and it is still rapid. I suppose if your computer is not the best then that is a good idea to speed it up

I'm running nine countries and several leagues within those countries, plus a large database, and it runs quickly and smoothly.

mine's noticeably slower when i tried to run the same number of countries and leagues as i did in 07 and 08. so i've had to cut down on the number of leagues i run, and it's alright. my pc was top spec a few years ago - not anymore though. i suppose it's time for an upgrade!
