new mac proble, SI please help.

downloading the mac patch seems to have completely killed the game for some of us.

my mac more than meets the system requirements, so its not that.

before the patch, the game worked.

after the patch, the game does not even load (get an error message).

i've re-installed twice, once with patch and once without.

i've both verified and repaired disk permissions.

the game still doesnt load.

any help?

hmmm....how? i'll give it a go

Open a Finder window and navigate to Home > Library > Preferences folder.

You can then delete any SI ones in there.

hmmm you may well be a genius.

that's fixed the original version of the game. i'm going to reinstall the patch and see if it still works, then that could be a fix for other folks too.

it does appear to work fine with the patch aswell.

if i take anythign out of the prefereances, as soon as i click to load fm up again, it puts all them files back into the preferences where i delted them from...any suggestions?

i also have not had to put my CD Key to authenticate my game on my mac...i have however done this on the PC previosuly.

Hi, ive posted on the main mac patch thread but no-one has been able to solve my problem so I thought I would post on here.

Basically I have 10.5.5. and and intel mac over spec. 2.16GHz 2Gb Ram etc.

However, when I go to start a new game on v.9.1.0 it does about 20% then crashes saying that it cannot load 4-4-2 DM and 4-5-1 DM before displaying a standard Mac error box saying the application unexpectedly quit.

I have tried uninstalling everything including preference files and the si folder in the documents section and then reinstalling, didn't work. I have also tried verifying/repairing disk permissions but that didn't work. Anyone able to help?
