TeeWee
What factors do you use when you have 3 Midfielders on a line to make them either narrow (MC-MC-MC) or wide (ML-MC-MR); or even asymmetric (ML-MC-MC or MC-MC-MR)? If I look around here, it seems as most of the 3 man midfield-line is narrow. Why? Is it because the lateral distance between the MC and the side Mids gets too big if you employ a wide line? What if you create a "asymmetrical" line which looks exactly like standard 4 midfield line, but with 1 of the MC dropping to DMC (so he's not at the center spot, but offcenter instead)? Will this help a bit? Just asking, because if I have a very good natural AMC or DMC, I seem to be doomed to have a 3 man narrow midfield line. Especially annoying if I have fairly good side midfielders as well...

Kevchenko
I've been using a wide 3 man midfield with arsenal and done quite well. Nasri ML Cesc MC(playmaker) and Walcott MR AMC and 2 strikers.
shafi
I play a DMC two MC's and a AMC, i get my width from my fullbacks who constantly bomb forward with great success. I play a width setting of around 12with a short passing game and so far it is a joy to watch.
Ryknow
I have three in the midfield(narrow) and an AMC infront of them. The wingbacks are basically wingers. I find with this i dominate possession alot more as Im controlling the midfield at every turn
