NepentheZ
Inspired by FM07's challenge, I've decided to give it another go. I wouldnt have created the thread, but i noticed Jimbokavs little boast from his GK in Dafuges challenge, I thought it could get better response this year, due to the game just being released. Originally posted by Jimbokav1971:After recent discussion with NepentheZ, and after some inspiration from Nick Hamblin & Harper, I have decided to start a challenge of a different sort, that will run concurrently alongside challenges such as dafuge's challenge and Gundo's challenge, (although it can also be participated in without participation in any other challenge. I've taking the liberty of nicking some rules from the dafuge challenge and modifying others. The Aim.The basic premise of the challenge is to see how many goals you can score with a GK, (goal-keeper). The Rules.Any team in any league in any nation can be selected. Any size database may be used. Any past experience may be chose. Any nationality may be selected as manager. National Teams may be managed. When managing a National team, you may not manually select friendly matches. (this is impossible to check but I will simply disqualify anyone who I believe to be in breach of this rule). At club level, only competitive matches count, (no frendlies) At International level, goals scored in International frendlies do count. You may move teams as and when you wish without limitation. GK's may only be played in the GK position. You are not permitted for example to play your GK in an outfield position, (even for short periods). Dual position players, (GK/ST or any other mix), are nor permitted under any circumstances. A player must be a GK and a GK only. No external utilities such as FMScout should be used and the database should be uneditied. Should SI release a data update, this would be allowed. It is advised that people should update using the latest patches as they are released. I repeat, absolutely no, (and by no I mean feckin NONE AT ALL EVER), use of the editor is permitted. Rules for this thread.Player naming is allowed, (however I would make a polite request that if you are talking about real players, perhaps you could give them nicknames to avoid spoiling it for others who may not wish to know that they have a budding Chilavert in their ranks. Discussion of tactics is allowed, but try and keep it pretty basic. For anything in depth, please go to the T&TGF. Screenshots for anything are encouraged, (and in order for you to be added to whatever sort of list I will be compiling, is a requirement.

Des Tiny
Quick question on this one...Is it acceptable to have your Goalie taking your penalties? Cause this would make the targets a bit easier, not that I get many penalty shots in a season, but I get enough Also I take it you turn Long Shots on for your Keeper to get these goals? Jimbokav1971
I just saw this & thought to mysef, "cheeky bastrad! Who the hell has gazzumped MY challenge ". Then I realised that it was co-creator NepentheZ and all is well . Yeah, my GK has already scored but it passed without drawing much attention in the dafuge thread. I had been meaning to start this uo again, but as I don't consider this a "long term" save game I was holding off. No reason why we shouldn't start the thread though as people seemed to like it last season. So I guess I will get this thing underway. Fearon. His FK rating is only 8 but he is getting 50% of his shots on target, (in the league anyway), which is quite impressive. He has also created 3 assists. I Have a GK that is better at free-kicks, but he is yet to find the net.

Jimbokav1971
NepentheZ. I love the new records , but didn't we have seasonal records too. I'll wait to the end of the season, (or the next goal if it comes before then), and add seasonal records in. It's quite hard to do that many posts like that with links without mucking one up. Just realised I misses off the youngest scorer proof . I'll update the next time I have something to update if it's still there. Thanks for starting this up again . Thats going to be hard given I play the matches on fast commentary, with no highlights, or 2d match engine or anything. He also has had 1 more assist this season and I wouldnt even know which match it was from, I spotted it on his stats after seeing from your screenshots where I can see the info from. I can say he is a young Irish goalie, that I got on loan from Peterborough during my first season, and then managed to buy him for £5,000 from Boston in the 09/10 season. His FK attribute is an 8, and I have set him to have mixed on the forward runs.
