One-on-ones?

For some reason, my strikers are totally unable to score one-on-ones.

In mid February, 1st season:

Alves:

Finishing: 17

Composure: 13

Goals/Shot Attempted: 5/54

Shots On Target/Attempted : 39/54

Pretty much every goal apart from 2 have came from headers, the other 2, long shots. Everytime I see Alves in a one-on-one, he hits the ball straight at the keeper. Every single time!! What's the crack.

Mido:

Finishing: 12

Composure: 13

Goals/Shot Attempted: 1/20

Shots On Target/Attempted : 14/20

Mido's only goal came from a header. Pretty much all one-on-ones are the same as Alves, straight at the keeper.

Tuncay was sold in January so I don't have his stats but I think he scored about 4 goals but he also had pretty much every one-on-one chance blasted straight at the keeper.

I'm currently 15th in the league, 25 goals scored. Surely if my players could actually score one-on-ones, I would higher up the league. I'm guessing out of Alves 39 shots on target, maybe 25-30 were one on ones and he should really have knocked 15 goals in by now.

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

My strikers at Hyde United are having a few problems scoring but I think that's because I'm Hyde United, seen a few one-on-ones scored though.

You're not alone, this has been happening since FM 08 and is something that hasn't been fixed

Same with me at Redditch. I wonder though on average how often a striker score in a 1 on 1 with the keeper anyway. Would be interested in the percentage

im at hyde too, and i keep missing one on ones....though as u said it might just be the players

Hmmm, my opinion is that the one-on-ones are much better converted in this version and there are fewer such chances than in FM08.

I agree, although there are fewer chances and goals in FM09 it's that it's very big chances that the strikers are missing more than hitting it seems.
