Can`t load FM without steam?

Hi.

I bought a retail box of FM 09, and activated it via steam. However, I can`t seem to launch the game without going through steam. Does this mean I can`t launch it on my laptop when I`m away from internet access?

Or is there something simple I`m missing?

even if your not connected to the internet after installation you can still load fm

How to run FM09 without Steam

First off open the steam folder in your c/drive

Once there find the folder called steamapps

then open the common folder

then open 2009 folder

Then right click fm2009 icon and select create shortcut.

Drop that to your desktop.

Once all this is done you will not need to load up steam every time you play the game.

If you authenticated through STEAM I think you need STEAM running, if your not connected to the internet that doesn't matter as you can run STEAM in offline mode so you do not need to be on the net.

You don't need Steam running even if you authenticated with Steam, there is a workaround as I stated above

I was having the same problem, I bought mine through Steam and didnt want to keep going through the STEAM menu to launch the game.

But once you've found the application file and shortcutted it its all fine. Its just a shame the files are all in the STEAM program folder rather than in its own.
