Ohmyhovel
Is it meant to take up 550,000k ? FM08 used to only use about 50,000k if that. http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2411/11162008195843qg7.png
Ohmyhovel
Just realised have I posted this in the wrong place?
Number Nine
Takes up about 400mb on my machine, but I'm on XP. RAM is there to be used. You want FM to be using lots of RAM because the hard disk is a performance bottleneck.
Indi75
Using 550k of my 4GB on Vista. This is no different to FM08 for me, especially since Vista runs more processes in memory and spends less time paging to slow ass hard drives.

LFCfan
FM is a processor-intensive game.
Football_Manager08
Its making my computer run incredible slow though.Anything I can do to lower it ? Onmyhovel. Not really, lowering the amount of leagues your playing would do something though. I recommend getting more ram, i believe you have about 1gb? Ohmyhovel
yup 1gb but I am not very clever at computers so I don't wanna mess around with the insides to increase it and letting an IT guy do it would cost a small fortune.

Adding ram is very very simple. Just buy the modules from a store, open the case. Unclip two clips, then insert the ram, wait until it "locks". Then your done. Number Nine
Its making my computer run incredible slow though.Anything I can do to lower it ? Run fewer leagues and a small database, turn 3D off. Don't expect to be able to multi-task with FM like it's a just a browser or a word processor though. Ohmyhovel
Is there only one type of RAM, if so that sounds pretty easy. Just buy a 2gb one and bang it in and then off I go.

Football_Manager08
Is there only one type of RAM, if so that sounds pretty easy. Just buy a 2gb one and bang it in and then off I go. Well. It depends on your motherboard, if your motherboard can hold 2gb. Put two 1gb's in it. And it depends on what ram speed your motherboard supports (e.g. pc-3200 which is usually 400mhz). Go to: Start >> Run. Type in dxdiag. Then tell me your system model, and i'll tell you what you can add.

One time i had a computer which supported PC-3200. And it said i can use PC-8500. :|

LFCfan
I'd recommend buying 2x 1Gb PC-5300 sticks of RAM for the machine

Try and find some PC-5200 on ebay. Very unlikely to get some in stores, its almost ancient. You've got four banks. And one of them is in use. You can hold upto 4gb ram (i recommend only using 3gb, as you'd have to use a 64bit os. If it was 4gb).
Football_Manager08
I'd recommend buying 2x 1Gb PC-5300 sticks of RAM for the machine Why? It supports DDR Pc-5200. Getting that, would just be a waste of money. As it'll just go down to the supported mhz in bios.

Yes. Buy one of those, and put it in the other bank. You can't have. 512mb and 2gb in one bank Needs to be matching pairs. Put it in: 512mb in one bank and 2gb in the other.
