Will I be able to get my money back?

I bought the game this afternoon. I registered the code with Steam, but the game will install. I just get the message that the game is launching but nothing happens. To me, this is something that clearly does not work. Will Sainsburys refund my money?

I've seen other people with this issue, and from memory they got it sorted. Try searching the Bugs forum.

Because it doesn't work

If something doesnt work I normally take it back. No point it laying around.

With some Steam games, when you launch a game, it will try to access Steam - or check for updates.

Try deactivating it from doing both - you right-click the game from the game list and you'll see various options (ie always keep game up to date - try turning it off).

If enough people take this back, they will soon get the message.

Talk about lack of patience.

I installed through Steam and cannot start the game or create a shortcut, or running without Steam being active

Fix: If installed via Steam, you can find the game executable (exe) at the following location:

C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Football Manager 2009

If you double click this the game will launch, you can also create a shortcut to this location on your desktop.

You launch the game via Steam and nothing happens

Tried everything I can find in the forums re Steam. Nothing worked. Uninstalled Steam. Tried to reinstall game. Disc not being recognised by computer. Opened disc through 'my computer' reinstalled game. Now getting fm.exe error.

Hope it went well I'm going to buy mine now.
