Was half way through my first pre-season friendly when...

my pc just turned itself off. somebody wanna tell me why?

Doesnt sound like a game issue,seems it could be an overheating issue,if you post your specs it could maybe help.

Laptop or Desktop? Desktop = System faliure, turned off for safety to protect hardware, Knocked the power button/ power cut or virus

laptop - battery dead, wire not in right/ plug turned off or overheating issue clean ur fan *can apply to both*

Depends how long you were playing for?

Maybe you were playing for a while and had some windows updates while you were playing computer shuts itself off when i get them.

im not at home now, so dont no my specs. been playin FM since CM days, never had this prob. plus, pc had only been on for about an hour??? seriously, anybody else have this problem? if not, il just have to wait til tomorrow to see if it happens again

The most obvious problem is likely to be overheating as has already been said.

If you were watching the game in the new 3D model then if your graphic card etc starts to overheat your system shuts down to protect itself,if it didnt then it would just blow and cause more damage.this isnt a gamming issue thats for sure.

Most likely not if the other FM games ran ok on your system,the 3D will take that bit more out of your card and if it isnt s decent gamming card it could give you problems like the 1 you have now.

You might want to open the computer up and check for any dust. If there is any, get a can of compressed air and remove it with a few blasts of that. The improved air flow should help your PC avoid overheating in future.

Not had that problem and been playing FM09 for the past 9 hours straight!

I have however had it crash once when I got a warning saying the program stopped working windows will try to find a solution

overheating is not going to be a case for almost all the player base but it can happen,FM doesnt take a huge amount to run compared to alot of other games but if you have a low end system it can be a problem,it also dosnt matter to a certain degree how long you play,if the game asks for too much and the likes of your card cant handle it then it could close the system down after 10 mins.

Like others have said it could be that there is a build of dust or the fans arent working correctly or not working at all.

Try loading it up again and only using the 2d match engine. If it doesnt happen (and its happened many times before when you've used 3d and got that far) then its an overheating issue.

started the game up again today, been playin for about 3 or 4 hours and its been fine. didnt actually do anything. ran a defrag and virus scan tho, so maybe that helped or something. anyway, this game is freakin awesome
