These are the only 2 i can remember but there has been many more words that are not in use by any footballing nation other than america. no one calls it soccer Anyone else got this? Oh and when i started game it said welcome to wws instead of FM... ??

In the preferences I think you can change the language to English UK.
LFCfan
Looks like you've somehow received the American version. Didn't the CD cover give you a hint or did you get it via Steam?
Tyler
I would rather have it say football and kits etc. Since I manage mostly in Europe.
wildhagen
Seems you have bought WWSM, which is the American version of FM, hence the American terminology...
lawsie
well it says FM manager on the box, and the CD and the manual...
lawsie
meh i just changed it to english (english not US english) and it changed it all around, oh well thanks for the tip on doing that
Irchard
You should probably let SI know (guess they do now), since although in your case, getting the wrong version didn't really have any consequences, imagine if it was a Polish guy who had somehow received a Portugese copy of the game. Nobody would want that.

Sundodger
I'm American and I don't even want US English! I ordered from Gogamer because they were selling the UK import.

Twellman24
Oh yeah, I'm sure this guy is the reason why we get the game 4 days later and the patch for it God knows when.
mne2
Someone posted that this was due to windows being set to American English in the Regional Settings. It might be worth checking what yours is set as?
B. Stinson
Oh yeah, I'm sure this guy is the reason why we get the game 4 days later and the patch for it God knows when. Yes, actually he is, along with everyone else like him. Buying our version of the game shows that there's a market over here. - A market that could hurt their profit if we're unhappy. Right now, we'd hardly put a dent in their profit, so who cares if we're unhappy?
hagar
Yup, its regional settings. It defaults to US settings on my work laptop (im with a US company in the UK) but is UK settings on my UK laptop..
