Fm 2009 mac loading issues

Installation is complete and them when i start the game i get a black screen, the cursor turns to the football for a mo and then all i get is a grey screen and no sound of loading.

Can anyone tell me what the prob is? I've got a 3 yr old iMAC with OSX which seems to have enough memory

The game does not run properly on older PPC macs and OSX Panther or OSX Tiger.

Some issues will be fixed with the patch coming on Monday.

You have to wait for the patch on Monday and than trying it again.

game works okay until matchday,when the cursor turns into a football and it never loads, i for one are ****ed off with this game already.1st it was having to go online and enter a product code and now this

You do not need to enter a product code for the mac version...

I also have the problem of when i try to run the game, it says 'failed to set up graphics system'. It's been nothing but hassle since i bought the game yesterday morning, after troubles connecting. Why couldn't it just be simple like before. Any help would be really appreciated!!

The main problem will be that the game was made and tested only for high spec macs:

Intel processor and OSX Leopard and at least Radeon1600 graphic card

Without posting the specs of your macintosh, including graphic card and OSX they can't look into those issues.

I,m no good on computers and i don't understand any of that stuff. All i want to know is how to get my game working.

A lot of people are posting in different threads expecting Macs that are three years older and more to run this game. Unless you r old machine is a MacPro and you have upgraded the graphics card and OS, you are going to be disappointed.

That's not SI's fault. I wouldn't expect a three year old PC to do too well either unless it had been upgraded along the way.

Computers don't age well. Macs keep going for years, but their specs fall further and further behind the industry standard.

but thats the bit that i find a bit funny.

Firstly FM has always run albeit slowly on older macs..

Secondly and more importantly, the fact that the game even opens on a ppc mac means that SI have put time into making it a universal application rather than an intel only... So why do that then not support it or make it work properly?

You do not need to enter a product code for the mac version...

Why do you not need to enter the activation code on Mac's ?

Nothing has changed since FM2008 when you want to play on a mac. The disk must be in the drive for launching the game. Online activation is only for pc users.

help please - i cannot find a patch that works for mac. all the files are .exe

can anyone suggest something?

suggestion: wait 'till SI get the Mac patch out. It isn't out yet. Hopefully this means SI is doing a good job with it, which means we'll have to wait a bit longer, but get a good product out of it..
