Is this the worst installation you've ever done?

I can't think of a worse game installation than this. Never before have I found it so needlessly difficult to get a game installed. I'm sure when I get the thing playing (finally) it will be great but this is shocking.

Yes, terrible ! Been trying to install it since 7pm, its now 9.30pm ! And Steam is saying ready to play in 1 hr 35 mins ! Consilation is that i get to play FM08 whilst waiting !

To be honest MMOGs on launch tend to be the worst installs. You have to set up an account, install the game, download patch(es) then log into the game...at the same time thousands of others are trying to exactly do the same. So much can and does go wrong!

Finally got it done, after activation code errors and then trying to connect to the server and it not working, then asking for the activation code again.

So yes, by far.

Not to jump on the hate band-wagon but yeah I can't say I've ever had this much hassle trying to install a game.

Got it working after having to wait 4 hours for a DLL Update to download not to mention my Product Key had about 8 0's or O's which took me ages to decipher in order to activate (this was before the helpful link was as well known about) and all of this on top of the fact that using Steam is just a downright nuisance.

i have never known a game to be so complicated.

If they made sure the servers could deal with the volume of customers using it then I'd be more than happy with the activation stuff

It'll be ok after the weekend once the traffic has died down and most people have authenticated

no problem here. installed and work straight away. and i don't need to leave the disc inside the computer anymore which is great \o/

Mine was easy, I LOVE STEAM, yeah I said it and what?

ive not had any problems, using steam, installed first time activated no problem,

half a sleep when i installed it but i think i used the activation option from one of the menus instead of opening the game directly. this may be away round some of the problems people are experiencing.
