Wrexham Afc Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 1. Stick the game in. 2. Whilst installing. A steam popup will arrive. You must register with steam. Type in the code at the back of your game manual. (hopefully your game will get activated). 3. Steam will then take you to an FM update which could take a full day to download (depending on peoples connections). Mine currently says Updating football manager 2009. 'Ready to play in approximately 7 hours 45 minutes. (Downloading). 4. Hopefully after that long wait your game should work. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask as i have been one of the lucky ones in getting my game activated and i will help anyone who has any problems. Its going to be a long wait im afraid. chopper99 Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Unfortunately this is not the end of the problems for most. Once your update is finished you need to activate your game through SoftAnchor before playing it. This is currently pretty much impossible as you either constantly get told that it cannot connect to the internet or you get an 'error 701' code.
