cant install using either option

last night i entered my activation code to the reply i was not connected to the internet

due to it being late, i went to bed

just before i tried installing through steam

i get this error

steam exe (main expection): ERROR: delete of steam.exe failed, Win32 Error 5 "Access is denied"

so i went back the the normal install and didnt get to activation

i got this error

The installation of FM09 is finished but some errors occurred during the install. Please see installation log for details.

is my copy a lost cause, shame im not gonna get to play it now until monday.

anyone else had these problems?
