One of the Sega reps confirmed it would be patched out.

There will according to some devs on here be a patch after i think it was 14 months of release that will make it not need to activate anymore or anything.

Why are you so obsessed with knowing this?

In 18 months time, FM10 will be out. At that point, why on earth would SI charge for a DRM free version of FM09?

Obsessed? Obsessed is realizing that there is a mistake with the authentication part of the game and asking the same questions over and over again, cursing at everybody who tries to help and collapsing the boards.

I just want to know; that's all. I'd be buying a game for 1 1/2 years, and then having to buy another one. Can I ask that without being too much of a problem?

Ha! no one is avoiding your question. The answer is: no, you will not need to buy a second DRM-free version of the game. You will simply patch your exisitng copy.

No one has said that as far as I am concerned, so unless someone who knows whats going on confirms that, I'll believe that it is the other way around, which is what Miles implies with that response.
