1/I AND 0/O wtf !!!

And moderators please don't blame me. I have searched forums and headers and been doing it all day. There are so many issues with steam and these other morons that I really will kill someone soon.

Hence a new debate. How the bloody hell do you tell what is 0 (number) and what is O (letter).

My activiation code looks like a 0 does this mean it is the number?

I also have what look to be I I and 1. Although on what I think is I there seem to be two dots right next to each other and on the 1 it looks as if one of the dots is slightly lower. Is this right?

It seems some people are playing the game cos their codes got through. I don't even know I have the right code. When will they just use letters? 26 of them and 25 in total. I think that gives enough combinations.
