You need a dvd drive to install the game.

Do you have one?

Dodgy DVDROM or the DVDROM drive is playing up.

See if another disk reads, if it does, take/send the game back to the shop/website and get a new one.

If there is a problem with the disc then you will need to take it back where you bought it from and get a replacement.

bet you have a CD ROM only, get down to argos or your nearest Maplin and buy a DVD rom

You sure you have a DVDrom? if you have i would take the copy back and get another one..

I have DVD drive as well,I suspect it could be my DVD,most of DVD runs on my DVD drive but I had a couple that couldnt read before...Why this has to happen on my beloved FM!!!?!I think my DVD drive is not a doddy one my computer is Fujitsu laptop on XP....

Id go with either a dodgy disc or more likely you only have CD Reader not a DVD reader, If it is I feel your pain as your gonna have to shell out more money for one of these or buy the game through Stream!

Can you post your dxdiag?

Start -> run and then type dxdiag

then do save all information and post the text file it creates.

It could just be that your DVD drive isn't working right, maybe try cleaning the lens or giving it a blow to clear any dust?

I have the exact same problem......it just won't load!! And i definitely do have a DVD drive!

As I posted in a thread in Techinical issues already:

No, you can enter the game in steam using the game code you have from your purchased game.

Open up Steam

Go to My Games

Go to Activate a product on Steam

Enter your Activation Code found on the back of the manual. (Use http://keylookup.fm2009.softanchorinsight.com/ to see you got all the 0's and o's right)

Steam should now download your game.

This will install the game on your computer, although it might still have to deal with SteamAnchor issues ( >.> )
