Windowed

Ok so I installed the game, played it in windowed and everythings fine. Installed the patch and now "windowed" is greyed out in the display settings on preferences. Has the patch taken away "windowed" ?

I have the same problem...

1. Right-click the FM icon on your desktop & click on "properties"

2. In the "target" field in the dialogue box that opens, add "-windowed -small_screen" at the end of the target, making sure there's a space in between.

So it should read like this: "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -windowed -small_screen

3. Save your changes & you'll be able to play FM in window mode next time you run FM.

When installed with Steam. Simply make a shortcut of the game (right click >> create shortcut). Then do the following which is above ^

So just add: -windowed -small_screen

Sorry, that doesn't work. The game starts windowed, en then it crashes after few seconds...

I can't set the game to windowed mode in the full Steam download version, but I was able to do so on the downloaded demo version (not Steam) by changing it in display preferences.

The "windowed" button in display preferences is greyed out, and I tried the "-windowed -small_screen" on the shortcut like I did for fm08, but there is another line of text next to the .exe (" -applaunch 10540 ") which can't be deleted and replaced with the "-windowed" line.

Anyone know why the demo was fine but the full d/l isn't in windowed mode?

If you could post this in the Bugs forum instead we'd really appreciate it.

I've had no issues playing in windowed mode from steam so far, so I'm guessing this is a user based problem.

gee this will be a big problem for me.

is this same issue happening for everyone? is the boxed version any different?

I've even booted up the demo version and that's still set to windowed and works fine... which suggests the boxed version will be okay. Where is it actually installed on Steam?

I went in the preference option and selected windowed and worked fine for me. I have the retail boxed version.

Not happening for me. Steam version.

In the demo everything was fine for me... Now I can only play full.

My windowed mode works but it is unwatchable because of the stuttering. It's smooth in fullscreen but I prefer to play in windowed and it's shockingly bad.

With the demo everything was fine, I could select "windowed" at the preferences. Now with the full game I can't play windowed. With the "-windowed-small_screen" trick, the game starts and then after a few seconds it crashes...

Anyone have a solution for this?
