Widescreen on FM09

How much better is widescreen?

Can you have a lot more widgets on the TV screen without it going over the pitch?

How does the main screen menu, team screens look etc?

tbh I dont think it makes much difference, all I noticed was the text got smaller and more spaced out.

On a normal 19" TFT when you watch the highlights in TV view and say you want player ratings on the screen it covers the action.

24" it still covers the screen. There is a discussion elsewhere pointing out FM doesnt really deal with high-res/large screens all that well (designed for standard res/screen).

I have widescreen but it doesn't give more space for the widgets unfortunately! You just get more of some black space either end of where the pitch stops. And the widgets are only allowed to be moved within the pitch screen anyway stupid really

mmmm, hopefully SI will get a patch out to take advantage of the space or maybe we will have to wait till FM10.

It's long been needed. But i'd also like to see the addition of drop down options in the squad screen so we can add more columns into the page as there is a lot of space going to waste now.

I find that on my 22" widescreen running windowed maximised (so I can browse the web while processing) TV mode with about 6 widgets (3 left, 3 right) it doesn't block my view of any of the action from the default 3D camera.

The only thing that would be nicer is being able to resize some of the widgets. I'd love to be able to read all the Assistants comments rather than having to scroll through them in the widget.

Also I can't see my entire squads motivation if the subs that come on aren't in the first 3 spots.

Finally, although I wouldn't often use it as I tend to watch TV while playing, but it would be nice to have dual screen support so I can have the TV match view on one screen and my choice of widgets on the other. But I'm straying from the point now.
