Did anyone use their kids in the cup comps and get K.O. , if so , did the confidence section consider the fact that you didnt play your 1st team ?

i havent really tried it with any team against a big side except a few times with bolton in the fa cup against droysdon and afc winbledon won both matches 3-0 oldest player in the team was 19..... and that was bojan

As Arsenal the confidence section for the League Cup is not important and the board will not judge your performance in the competition in relation to your job. So if you play kids and get knocked out it won't be a massive problem.

I also want to know that if I (playing as WBA) get knocked out by chelsea in the early stages, that should be a mitigating factor as to why I didn't meet my board expectations.

Its a bit unfair on the manager to expect him to get to the 4th round of the competition when he plays a team he isn't expected to beat in the 2nd round....

It'd be nice in the post match press conference to use that as an excuse and appease the board.

Yep, the board will take into account that you were knocked out by a much bigger team. They won't be happy, but they'll understand.

Playing kids shouldn't affect the board's view of the result really. Either the board consider a competition important or they don't. If they don't then whoever you play they won't overly care if you lose, if they do then they would expect you to pick a team to win games - if that can be kids then great, but if they lose then you are still out of a competition that the board want to do well in.

When I managed Luton in the demo , I was defeated 2-0 away to Crystal palace. The board said they were dissapointed with the defeat , but recognised the fact that I was playing higher league opposition.
