FM09 Memory

I was just wondering if someone from SI could just inform me of how much memory I will need to play FM09 as I hardly have any space left on my laptop and was just wondering on how much I will need to play the game. Cheers.

I don't think I will be thought Peter, that's the thing. I have about 33MB free at the mo and FM08 is about 780MB which means I have just over 800MB but I think FM09 will need much more free memory that that left to play the game.

i think miles said in a thread a few weeks back it will be around 3-4 GB. so even if you uninstall fm 08 it is unlikely to be enough.

If that's true then I have no chance of playing it. Can you buy memory for a laptop?

you can buy a portable HDD yes. but i would look for confirmation on this before buying.

I have uninstalled pretty much everything I don't use. I don't have any Movies and I love all my music. I dont have that much music anyway.

what size is your HDD you are using atm?

Tom - You mean Disk space and not Memory, I think, judging from your posts Best to clear that confusion up before you go and buy the wrong thing.

Could you tell us a bit about your laptop - system specs if possible?

Its unusual in this day and age to be struggling for disk space (unless you have an unhealthy addiction to porn..not that i'm saying that's your problem )

I'm not very good with computers so I don't know how to get my specs. Sorry about the "disk space" thing though.

33mb is not a lot to have spare regardless of your hard disk size.

Would suggest you download this tool here (http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html) and run that and see how much it clears out. You will be surprised at the crap you can find and remove when you run that tool

Tom - click start, right click on my computer and select "properties" - copy some of the information from there

Also, you can left click on my computer and it shows you how big your hard drive is

Its 1.60 Ghz for XP and 1.80Ghz for vista if i remember.

Just scraping it Tom, I suggest you remove all of your music, how much do you have? When was the last time you did a defragment and have you deleted FM files from the past, in my documents, you must have too much music

I have 204 songs which takes up 983.9MB.

My C Drive has 34.5GB amount of space and has 5.43MB left.

The file that takes up the most space is FM08 with 734MB next its Microsoft Office at 455MB and thirdly Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 which takes up 391MB

there's no need to take the ****.

Right click on your C: drive and select disk cleanup and see how much you can remove from it. Clear out things like internet clutter and other bits of crap.

Also that service pack you mentioned is it just the install files for that ? If so delete right away

Not that it makes much difference to your situation though. I'm struggling to understand where all that space has gone.

do you delete the patch file once you have installed it?

Do you use quicktime or photoshop?

I use quicktime for my Internet and I can't delete Photoshop for some reason.
