arsenal_2111
There's been a few threads saying that there has been penalty shootouts having about 15 shots each. Apparently the keeper never dives, so unless the shot is down the middle the keeper won't save it. To prove that penalty's can be saved, take a look at the following screenshot. The Coventry keeper saved Marcelo's penalty, which went to the left.

Goldeneye007
yes it may happen once in a while but most of the time they just stand still.
SmurfDude
They don't dive to the far end of the goal. He's still quite a few feet away from the post
NepentheZ
Yea that keeper, although saved it, is very close to the center of the goal still.
Carmi88
only problem with 3d engine, movement of the goalies.
Deano565
Sometimes they do dive, but the 3D only shows it once the ball has moved about 10 yards away and the save has already been made
VA101
So your using one penalty save against thousands of people who have experienced no penalty saves as evidence that 'they do dive' - ofcorse they will dive sometimes, but 99% of the time, they dont. Its still a major bug.
JohnShaft
You call that a dive? I've fell out of bed further. I've probably posted about the stupidity of penalties, and keeper logic, for nearing four versions in a row. Amazing how it never does any good. Colorado
I'm sure I read somewhere this is being addressed in the patch..
F77
well... i just want to say that while managing montrose, in one of my friendly games i had to go on a penalty shootout... the keepers never moved until my keeper managed to make a 10cm dive that managed(probably with his mind) to punch the ball(which was about 1 meter away from the keeper)!!! then the funiest thing happened... i still had to score the next penalty, and i thought: with my luck this guy is gonna shoot the ball over the bar... or the keeper will save it... well, what happened was that the keeper decided to stay still, and my goalkeeper(who was taking the shot) decided to shoot to the middle... the ball went, literally, through(like, the ball pierced through the keeper's chest) the keeper!!! lovely win... |mmo
No doubt that keeper movement is an issue. They never really jump anywhere. I really hope this will be fixed, it's quite important if the ME is to look realistic.
FrazT
This is a known issue and is being looked at currently.
