Damn my floodlights went

From the known issues thread:

When I play a match, the pitch texture in 3D is black rather than green.

* This appears to be affecting some ATI graphics cards and could be related to settings in ATI Catalyst.

Potential workaround:

- Instructions for Windows XP (Vista should be similar)

- Right-click on your Desktop and from the pop-up menu select "Catalyst Control Center".

- Select 'Advanced Settings'.

- Navigate to 'Graphics Settings' -> '3D' -> 'More Settings'

- Ensure the check box for "Support for DXT texture formats" is ticked.

  • 3 months later...

Happened to me the first time I played a game of 09 when it first loaded in 3D, the 2D pitch was still black when I changed, but I lowered the match detail level and exited the program, then the next time I loaded it was fine. Then again I swiftly went back to 2D anyway. I have a GeForce 6150SE chip, which after doing a bit of googling I just found out is extremely poor. I feel like I've lost a child. Especially when I got a shop to build me this computer last year, and I now realise the guy was probably just feining ignorance when I asked about the graphics card being any good.

On the plus side FM is the only PC game I'm ever likely to play, so I guess I have no real need for a decent one.
