Lordarod
Is it in the game? It would lower the ground maintenance costs and benefit lower teams especially. Not to mention it will always look good
Carmi88
it was in 08 so it should be in

GJS93
it probably is, perhaps in the future it could be added as an option when asked about the pitch size ie would you like to switch to artificial at cost of x amount or something along those lines..................guess would all depend on league rules though, some wont allow it etc.
Dirkjan
I can only think of one top-league-club who have artificial grass, and that is Heracles Almelo (Dutch eredivisie). anyone know some more?
Scab
IF Elfsborg, currently in second place in the Swedish premier division, plays on artificial grass.
GJS93
Stadium in Moscow has it cant remember which team plays there though, 2 teams in Scotland (Dunfermline and Hamilton) had artificial but had to remove it to be in the top league but a couple other teams do have it in the lower leagues
KUBI
I can only think of one top-league-club who have artificial grass, and that is Heracles Almelo (Dutch eredivisie). anyone know some more? In Switzerland Young Boys Bern and Xamax Neuenburg, both playing in the Axpo Super League, have artificial grass pitches. In Bern it has to replaced with a real grass pitch during the Euro. But now it's artificial again.
SI Staff Ter Posted November 8, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted November 8, 2008 Hamilton had it but I think they had to get rid of it when they got promoted because of SPL rules
Andyprime
is there a way to replace/relay with artificial and vise versa
Nordmore
In the Norwegian Premier League Ålesund, Tromsø use Artificial Grass
peter-evo
Don't know about you lot but I would keep the good old grassy pitch, though for teams struggling with money, artifical pitch may be needed
Andyprime
Don't know about you lot but I would keep the good old grassy pitch, though for teams struggling with money, artifical pitch may be needed me too but to save money i'd consider it if it was an opption
nerner
In the Norwegian Premier League Ålesund, Tromsø use Artificial Grass Isn't that because they are in the arctic circle? In an experiment that me and Walcotts wonderkids did, the teams with an artificial pitch always got relegated.
Quackje
Well that clearly doesn't work in real life nerner, Tromsø are in Europa League next year and Rubin Kazan will be in Champions League having won the Russian league.
nerner
Don't take it out on me, not my fault if the game is flawed.
displaced_seagull
You have to have a grass pitch to play in the FA Cup, so it wouldn't be an option for the majority of English clubs at least.
ledi
HJK (generally considered to be the biggest club in Finland) play on artificial turf as well. The Finnair stadium is also used by the Finnish national team occasionally in friendlies.
pelicanstuff
Luzhniki in Moscow has artificial turf, Torpedo and Spartak play there. Also Saprissa in Costa Rica

Dirkjan
but still no answer if wheter we can change the grasstype if we want to...?
Scab
Frankly that's probably not a decision the manager would take for a club. I don't see why it couldn't be something you can request from the board, though.
Lordarod
exactly if the bad grass is affecting your team's performance, or you want to cut down costs; you should be able to request it. Especially first one is your job as a manager I think.
pelicanstuff
I think you would have a problem getting permission from the relevant authority in most cases...
msadler04
but still no answer if wheter we can change the grasstype if we want to...? You can change it in the editor for definate as it was in FM08
